While reading this book I could not stop thinking that war is the most terrible thing that humankind invented.
This is the story about a lovely girl, whose life changed dramatically because of evil people who started the war. But despite all those horrible things she was lucky to have people who showed her that life can be interesting and that helping others is important.
Most people will relate to some parts of this book and everyone will definitely find something interesting!

For me, it was a reminder of lots of events that changed our lives. Kurkov wrote about everything we went through and his own thoughts and reminiscences. It is great that this book is available in English so that people from all around the world can read about the war and maybe help them understand us better.

Frankly speaking, I did not expect much from this book, but as I am fond of Greek mythology - I decided to give it a try. Surely this is the detailed description of the story and to my surprise the author did a great job describing the lifestyle of ancient heroes. She made the well-known characters more real with their problems and desires.
This book is not a piece of historical paper, so don't expect accurate facts from it - just enjoy a well-written story!
